Cambridge Public Library (Washington Co.)

The Cambridge Public Library received $3,262 from the $800,000 Public Library Construction Grant Program to replacement of furnace, thermostat, and water heater. The previous water heater had been installed in 1986, and was very inefficient, both because of the age of the unit, and because the size of the unit was larger than was necessary to heat the small building. The newly installed water heater, as well as the new oil burning furnace and programmable thermostat will help the library to be more energy efficient. Additionally, these improvements to the library will not damage the historically significant structure of the building. The library can now offer their patrons a warm interior while conserving energy, funds and its historic integrity.
