Baldwin Public Library (Nassau Co.)
The Baldwin Public Library received $5,000 from the $800,000 Public Library Construction Grant Program to install motorized Mecho Shades for ceiling-high windows in the library. Previously, the west-facing windows in the Adult Services area of the library allowed a great deal of glare and heat into the building, and prevented the air conditioning from maintaining a comfortable temperature. The library was able to install new wiring and electrical to power the motorized shades, and now the library will be a more comfortable environment for all, and benefit from increased energy conservation.
