Ardsley Public Library (Westchester Co.)
The Ardsley Public Library received $15,000 from the $14 Million Public Library Construction Grant Program for the construction of a new larger parking lot and sidewalk, and a new drain and catch basin for water runoff. The library has had problems with patron parking, including a lack of adequate parking for disabled individuals, and unsafe entry and exit from the building. The new parking ensures safe access to the building, including 2 new handicapped spaces, 3 fifteen-minute parking spaces and a sidewalk which will direct patrons safely across the street and parking lot. In addition to the construction of new spots and sidewalk, the library addressed a problem of flooding by installing a drainpipe and catch basin under the handicapped parking area.
