Andover Free Library (Allegany Co.)

The Andover Free Library received $25,400 from the $14 Million Public Library Construction Grant Program to renovate the entrance to the building to make it accessible to all.  Previously, the library foyer had steps going up to the main floor or down to the first level, preventing those who could not navigate stairs from accessing the library.  The renovations include installing an electric lift to provide access to both floors, adding a sidewalk leading to the lift, and adding an accessible bathroom.  These improvement will make access to both floors possible, as well as providing the appropriate facilities.  With the renovations, the library will be accessible to all members of the community.
