Allegany Public Library (Cattaraugus Co.)
The Allegany Public Library received $16,500 from the $14 Million Public Library Grant Program to repair the windows. Rotting wood was removed from around the windows, the glass replaced, the windows painted, and the wood surrounding the windows refinished. The replacement of the windows will make the building more insulated and energy efficient. In the winter, heating costs will be lowered, and summer cooling costs will also decrease. The library will now be a more comfortable and user-friendly place.
