About the NYS GILS "New York State Web Sites and Publications" Page
The NYS GILS "New York State Agency Web Sites and Publications" page provides links to two sources of agency publications:
- Links to the agency Web site. These links should help locate publications posted by an agency on its own Web site, especially any recently published documents.
- A "Browse NYSL Digital Collection" link to the agency's document folder (as available) in the New York State Library's Digital Collections, part of the New York State Library and Archives catalog. The New York State Library is currently scanning or otherwise acquiring the digital versions of New York State agency documents from the Checklist of Official Publications of the State of New York for years 1995 and forward. The "Browse NYSL Digital Collection" link is a shortcut to a specific agency (or group of agencies) through the Digital Collections heirarchy of the New York State Government Publications.
Note: All New York State agency documents in the Library's collection can also be searched through the New York State Library and Archives catalog. If the Library has a digital copy of the document, there will be a link to it in the catalog record's Electronic Access field. A catalog search box is now available on the New York State Agency Web Sites and Publications page.
About the Search Box
This search engine searches New York State Government Agency websites listed on the New York State Government Information Locator Service. The search engine was designed using Google's custom search tool. If you experience any problems with the search or have any comments or questions please let us know by emailing nyslweb@mail.nysed.gov
The "Search NYS Government" box on the New York State site, WWW.NY.GOV, is also helpful for locating specific information on NYS government Web sites.
See the FAQ: New Digital Media Management System for details about searching within the Digital Collections.
