If a basic keyword search on the Library's online catalog,
is returning too many irrelevant results, try narrowing your search by using
the POWER SEARCH screen. (Click the
button on the right side of the catalog screen.)
From the POWER SEARCH screen:
To search only electronic documents:
- Enter your search word(s).
- In the lower section of the screen, under Search Limits, in the Location field, choose "ONLINE". This will search all documents available online, which includes many federal, as well as State, documents. Some electronic documents may be HTML or PDF files, rather than scanned images.
To search only New York State Documents:
- Enter your search word(s).
- In the lower section of the screen, under Search Limits, in the Location field, choose"D-NYS-DOC".
