Pop-Up Blockers

Links to the Regents Exams in the Library's Digital Collections open in a new browser window. If you click on a link and nothing happens, it may be because you have a browser option or an ad-blocking plug-in application set to block pop-ups.

If you are using your browser to block pop-ups, you may be able to allow pop-ups from specific sites, such as the Library's catalog: http://nysl.nysed.gov. If you are using other ad-blocking software or pop-up blockers (such as the Google Toolbar, which has a built-in pop-up blocker), check the help feature or documentation for how to allow pop-ups from specific sites, or turn off the ad-blocking feature.

Timing Out

If you are having trouble downloading Regents Exams, your session may be timing out. Many of the older PDF versions of the Regents exams range from about 1 - 3 megabytes in size, and may take some time to download, especially over a standard phone modem. If that's what you are using, it's possible that the download started correctly but timed out on you.

I click on a link and get a blank page...

If a new window opens, but the page is blank, the problem may be that you do not have JavaScript enabled. Our digital collections software, where the copies of the exams are stored, uses JavaScript to display directories and the documents themselves, so you must have it turned on to view the exams.

I'm using WebTV and cannot open the exams.

The exams are in PDF format, and so must be downloaded to a computer in order to be viewed. If you are accessing our Web site via a TV, you will not be able to download and view the files.
