New York State Library Book Drops
The New York State Library has two book drops. One is located in the 1st floor lobby of the Cultural Education Center (CEC) and the second is located in the concourse level of the Legislative Office Building (LOB). Customers can use either book drop to return NYSL materials, including TBBL cassettes and Braille books, anytime during the hours that the State Museum or the Legislative Office Building (LOB) is open to the public.
Library staff will empty the book drops once a day. If you have any questions, please contact the NYSL Circulation Desk at 518-473-7895 or circ@mail.nysed.gov.

Madison Avenue entrance to CEC
If you enter the 1st floor lobby of the Cultural Education Center from the Madison Avenue entrance, walk toward the Museum Information Desk. The Library Book Drop is located behind the Museum Information Desk on the left-hand side next to a pillar.
Empire State Plaza Concourse
If you enter the Cultural Education Center (CEC) through the Empire State Plaza Concourse, take the escalator or the public elevator to the first floor of the CEC. Turn to the right when you step off the escalator or elevator and walk straight. Go to the pillar that has the Library video. The book drop is on the side of that pillar opposite the side with the library video.

Empire State Plaza Concourse
If you enter the Legislative Office Building (LOB) through the Empire State Plaza Concourse, go through the LOB security checkpoint and bear left. Follow the hallway to the glass doors. (You will pass the Assembly Human Resources office on the right.) Go through the glass doors and follow the hallway to your left. You will pass restrooms and an Exit on your right. The Library’s LOB Service Point will be on your right. Walk past the LOB Service Point window and turn right. The Library book drop (or book return) is in front of you.
The Capitol
If you enter the Capitol through the Washington Avenue entrance, go through the Capital security checkpoint. Follow the hallway to the escalator or stairs. Take the escalator or stairs down to the Concourse level. Go straight through the tunnel and bear right. Follow the hallway to the glass doors. (You will pass the Assembly Human Resources office on your right.) Go through the glass doors and follow the hallway to the left. You will pass restrooms and an Exit on your right. The Library’s LOB Service Point will be on your right. Walk past the LOB Services Point window and turn right. The Library book drop (or book return) is in front of you.
Legislative office building (LOB), first floor
If you enter the Legislative Office Building from the first floor entrance, take the staff elevators to the Concourse level. The Library book drop is immediately around the corner on the left from the staff elevators.
